From YoYoFriends: The shortcut is a yoyo that is great for any level of play. It offers plenty of spin power for learning new tricks and combos while still feeling fun and floaty in play. It has enough stability to handle any type of combo from speed to horizontals, perfect for any player beginner to advanced!
Usually, yoyofriends utilizes more simplistic lines in their designs, but we really challenged ourselves this time to create something new. The Shortcut features multiple cuts and angles to distribute the weight just right and bring out a beautiful new aesthetic in our lineup.
We named the yoyo shortcut because we believe this yoyo is a shortcut to a higher level of yoyoing for people due to its price, performance and good old fashioned yoyofriends quality. A perfect path to our higher end offerings and showcase what yoyofriends are capable of to all players. The shortcut is meant to be played by everyone!

First, I'm pretty new, so my opinion isn't the most valuable. That said, I'm disappointed in this yoyo. I expected it to be better than my MagicYoYo v3, and it's not as good. Maybe I got really lucky and got an above average v3, but I get nice smooth throws about 8 or 9 out of 10 with the v3, and I get wobble out of the shortcut about half the time. Again, I'm new, so my throws aren't super consistent yet, but I have spent hours with my Shortcut and it just seems to want to wobble no matter what. Even my good throws with it vibe more than my average throws with the V3. I have to really mess up a throw with the v3 to get it to act as bad as the Shortcut.
The Shortcut is less stable during tricks as well. It just seems to want to get sideways, even though it DOES spin better than the v3, which should make it more stable.
Spin time is another story. Even with the wobble, the Shortcut has a better spin time than the v3, as long as it stays straight. I've been tempted to put the bearing that came with the shortcut on the V3, but I'm afraid to unscrew it, just in case it's lucky it came so balanced.
I can't help but suspect I got a defective Shortcut though because so many people talk about how good it is for the price, and I don't see that so much about the v3 at half the price of the Shortcut. SO, your mileage may very.
