Recess was founded by World Champion, National Champion, and general yo-yo legend - Tyler Severance! Tyler quickly assembled an amazing team of talented players and they're doing a great job bringing that fun and exciting recess feeling back into the yo-yo world. Their latest release is a cool new plastic - The First Base!

The First Base was created to serve as an affordable top performance yo-yo for everyone from beginner to pro! It's a full sized yo-yo with a really comfortable shape that fits nicely in the hand and has excellent stability on the string. The First Base is fitted with a slim bearing to excel at beginner tricks right out of the box and an optional size C bearing for more advanced unresponsive tricks.

The Polycarbonate Molded Plastic body and simple logo give this yo-yo a really classic look while the metal bearing seat and modern weight distribution give it top notch performance!

The First Base returns with a special collaborative edition from Jake Bullock and Recess founder Tyler Severance. Friends for over 20 years, Jake and Tyler teamed up to create a First Base that reflects their shared history, creativity, and lifelong connection to yo-yo culture.

Inspired by their preteen obsession with Nirvana and Kurt Cobain, the First Bass edition blends music, friendship, and classic First Base playfeel into one standout release. The Dayglo yellow and chartreuse body with sparkles pulls directly from bass fishing lures, while the artwork by Jake is inspired by the iconic Flipper logo tee Kurt Cobain was known for wearing.
