Luftverk -
  Injection Machined Innovative Plastic
Sale price$ 29.99

The very first time we threw the plastic prototype that Luftverk was quietly showing at the National YoYo Contest our jaws dropped. It played so amazingly smooth and solid it felt like it had to be made out of a new material. Dense and precise like metal but with a fun and relaxed feel that only plastic can deliver this yoyo is a true merging of the best of two worlds in one incredible design. This could be the yoyo of the year!

From Luftverk:

This is the Plastic Fulvia, an “Injection Machined” yoyo which is a technique that achieves that classic yoyojam over molded bearing seat feel but the quality of a premium machined aluminum.

It is first injection molded into a large plastic blank then the profile is completely CNC machined. This is an independently funded project that I have dumped a monumental amount of money into, so it’s pretty surreal to see it completed! The R&D, prototyping and testing for this product has been so insane.

I made a blog post about the complex manufacturing process, design struggles and the benefits of this manufacturing technology which can be found in the blog post.

    Awesome

Very solid, bearing it came with was very loud and not the greatest but after swapping the bearing it’s one of my favourite plastic throws.

    So good…

I got here via the plastic Peak which I had to have (very fun to play- really is just like a peak) . Was very impressed and carry it with me- figured I would take a look at the other plastics here.

This one shines. They are all fun, feel like something new, make all my metals lonely, but after playing with higher end yoyo’s (in spite of enormous suck) since they first became available (first metal was first run M1)…this is hands down the most stable throw in my case. Because of that, I have proof that you can teach an old dog (52) new tricks. I wish I could accurately describe my wife’s face when she asked me what I did today (teacher on summer break), and I replied “check out this new trick I learned!” I truly think she was overwhelmed in that moment, and mesmerized. All she could say was “is that new?”

    “Nope, been here for hours.”

Seriously amazing yoyo- great play. Keep making these because when my students play it, they are all going to want one.
