In 2023, YoYoFactory celebrated its 20th Anniversary, having transformed from a simple idea into a leading producer of high-quality yo-yos for competitors and every day players. They paid tribute to their success by recreating their designs that have been used by the World Champions of the 1A division throughout the years.

The Northstar was crafted as a signature model for Jensen Kimmitt, the 2010 World Yo-Yo Contest 1A Champion, this yo-yo, based on the Protostar plastic design, outshone over 90% of competitors who favored full metal yo-yos.

Despite being plastic, it delivered performance on par with its metallic counterparts, catering not only to advanced players but also providing a relaxed platform for refining tricks. While some advanced tricks may pose a challenge with plastic models, the high-performance Northstar demonstrates that full metal isn't always the superior choice.
