MIRAGE SB
Japan Technology continues to push the limits of design with the Mirage SB—a bold reimagining of their flagship model. The “SB” stands for Small Bearing, and with this new release the Mirage has been transformed from a C-size bearing design into a finely tuned D-size bearing powerhouse.
Switching to a smaller bearing is no simple task. The Mirage was originally optimized around C-size specs, and reducing the bearing diameter risks upsetting the balance that makes it so iconic. To overcome this, Japan Technology completely re-engineered the design—thickening the outer rim to boost rotational force, refining the weight distribution with a lightweight center, and adjusting the outermost diameter to perfect its feel in play.
The result is a Mirage with more power, more stability, and a refreshingly unique personality on the string. It feels solid and powerful in the hand, yet remarkably natural to throw and catch. For some, it’s a wave of nostalgia—bringing back memories of the golden age of small bearing yo-yos. For others, it’s something entirely new, offering a play experience unlike anything else today. The Mirage SB proves that even a small change can create a completely new dimension of performance.
