Ibis
The Ibis carries a coffee and cocktail bar's DNA in a yo-yo shape. Named after "The Ibis," Featherspin Throws' favorite local haunt back home in Wilmington, North Carolina, this design pulls from Art Deco mid-century elegance, the ibis bird itself, and, fittingly, the shape of a particularly fine espresso martini, full and rounded yet light in character, much like that dark drink under its crown of froth.
Underneath the story sits a genuinely unusual build: solid 7075 aluminum construction across the rim, cap, and bearing seat, wrapped in a POM shell, a callback to the YoYoJam era that also delivers a distinct, nostalgic profile you won't find on a modern throw. The Ibis ships in three colorways drawn straight from Wilmington's coastline, Wrack Line in grey and white, Shell Island in silver and white, and Mudflats in bronze and white, with hidden artwork details tucked throughout, from Palm Tree Island's unmistakable parking meter to the rolling surf of Shell Island itself.
This is a yo-yo built to carry a sense of place and memory as much as performance, a quiet recall to childhood beach trips where sand, saltwater, and sunlight were the whole world. The Ibis is a little piece of home, made to fit in your hands. Take it with you wherever your next adventure leads.
