Freehand 2 AL
Duncan’s original plastic Freehand ushered in a new modern era for plastic yo-yos. The original more rounded design of the plastic Freehand (FH1) hit a roadblock when the mold actually broke and Duncan was unable to produce it.
Instead Duncan took some of the plastic shapes they had acquired from the ProYo line to make a more angular and rounded shape that came to be known as the Freehand 2. It did not deliver exactly what the original Freehand did but it quickly became a favorite in its own way with features that helped distinguish it from its organic shaped brother.
Now Duncan is ready to modernize the Freehand 2 with a full aluminum build and the results are stunning! It’s gap is angular and cuts straight to the bearing seat from the rim giving it more forgiving spin during string tricks, but it still keeps a pleasing rounded edge making it very comfortable to hold, catch, and throw! The inset metal caps give it a look that feels familiar but looks so polished and really high end.

The worlds first. I want to support Duncan being that they are the worlds first and American. Hopefully yoyo manufacturing come back to American. Ive seen some Canadian yoyos A_rt had some yoyos American made. I am happy to have this. Although, come on, Duncan, how can you sell a 5a freehand yoyo, called the freehand and not include a counter weight. Actually unbelievable. They should clearly state counterweight not included. I probably wouldn't have bought it if i knew it didn't come with a custom counterweight. Makes me not want to buy any more Duncan products. This has been a disappointing buy. Also, its far from the best 5a yoyo. This is one for the old school who used to play with the original freehand. Its a homage to the past with more modern play. Its cool, but at least include a custom counterweight. Anyway.. thanks yoyoexpert.

More of a novelty for players who remember classic Freehand 2 shape from yesteryear. Unfortunately it doesn't really stand up today's more modern designs and should only be enjoyed by people who remember yoyo's having very high walls and narrow shapes. Smooth for what it is, but not something I'd enjoy playing daily.

I bought this for my collection because I have a lot of the free hand yoyos. It is smooth, comfortable in the hand, binds well, and all that good stuff. But it's way too thin to be a freehand yoyo. They should have just called it something else
