Duncan Counterweights
Ready to learn a new style of play?! Counterweight, also known as Freehand, also known as 5A, uses a dice or ball attached to the end of your yo-yo string instead of attaching the string to your finger. This cool style allows you to "let go" completely and perform tricks a completely new way.

Nice standard counterweights at a reasonable price. The red ball is soft and perfect for beginners. It doesn't hurt when it hits you and doesn't make a loud noise if it hits your metal yoyo.

I've been using Duncan yoyos to learn 5A for a while, and their foam ball counterweight is fantastic for just that. It still has a nice weight to it, with a plastic interior helping the counterweight retain shape, but it is far more forgiving to newer freehand players than the dice are. The dice are fine as a counterweight as well, they look nice in motion and have a great size for catching and throwing. If you're looking to start learning 5A, or want to get a counterweight that's great for teaching newer 5A players, the Duncan Counterweight 3 Pack is good.
