Canopy 3D

Some collaborations start with a pitch deck. This one started on a train car leaving the Atlanta airport, with Dale Tubat pitching Harrison on an idea for Canopy 3D right there on the way to a contest. The result is Canopy Collection's first venture into 3D-printed production, joining a lineup that's already spanned aluminum, stainless steel, and polycarbonate with something built entirely differently: printed in PLA filament at 56mm diameter and 50mm width, making it the widest throw in the Canopy catalog.

Dale kept the details that make a Canopy a Canopy, carrying over the hub spike and the rounded, stepped profile, while tuning the play feel to stand apart from the rest of the line. After a few rounds of prototyping (weight pulled to the rim, then shifted to the midsection for a more nimble, comfortable hold), the final build settled into something calm and controlled rather than fast and flashy, ideal for players who want to weave tricks together slowly and deliberately. The 3D-printed construction also means every piece comes out with its own marble-like, layered look, no two exactly alike, and this release runs a granite-style filament that fits Canopy's nature-inspired identity perfectly.

Each Canopy 3D is printed, assembled, hand-tested, and tuned by Dale himself at home, then boxed with a Mark Maslo-designed logo hand-stamped by a local Fremont shop. It's a reliable pick for anyone who wants to slow down and play at their own pace, and it made its debut at PNWR earlier this year. Give it a throw and feel the difference for yourself.
