Butterfly AL w/ Delrin Cap
The Aluminum Butterfly was an instant hit when Duncan first released it. It hit the spot. A modern take on the classic design, the original did its job. But the Butterfly is a potent design, a classic worth many takes from many angles. So they thought, what the heck, let’s do it all again.
The closest design we have gotten to a long-spinning metal yo-yo that plays just like the original plastic Butterfly, the new Aluminum Butterfly features a small bearing, thin pads, and new delrin caps. Also featuring a smaller diameter that is closer to that of the original Butterfly, all of these small tweaks contribute to a totally different yo-yo from the old BFAL.

I love the Butterfly XT and this yoyo plays like that but better in every way. If I had a time machine and could go back to 90s I think this yoyo would have conquered them all. It handles combos very well and loops better than expected. It is nice to pull off a short combo and finish with a quick loop. It has a snappy movement that is eye catching and satisfying.

This thing plays really well. Much heavier than a plastic butterfly xt, but same size & basic feel.
One thing tho, being aluminum it has more inertia, so if it manages to grab the string when you're not expecting it, it'll crash into your knuckles with a heavy dose of negative reinforcement.
The plastic butterfly xt is considered a beginners yoyo, but I believe the aluminum version is not as friendly towards mistakes, making it intermediate at least.
Lastly, being heavier it chews up strings faster than a plastic xt. The fresher the string the better it plays.
