I notice if I don’t use them they stay new J.K. they always find something to hit on a miss I like soft grass to practice on but in Minnesota that’s only 7 months then look out I am inside I have a piece of used carpet in my basement and a carpeted area upstairs the rest is hardwood floors so I try to keep my practice to the safest area ;but they still find something to hit at times. good luck
