YYJ Classic acting unresponsive

My family and friends started yoyoing over the summer (both unresposive & responsive play), and there is an epidemic of YYJ Classics that are behaving as unresponsives (4 of the 5 Classics we have have this issue). Is there maintenance I need to learn to do to fix this issue? (We’re not very good at yoyo maintenance, yet.)

Any help or suggestions are appreciated!

You need to buy thick lube : https://shop.yoyoexpert.com/products/yoyojam-lube?variant=18870462724

There’s 2 options, thin lube and thick lube. Make sure you get the thick lube if you want more response. Once you get it, open up your yoyo and put 1 or 2 drops of it in the bearing of the yoyo.

Thick lube as noted above.

Thanks for the replies!

General purpose grease can also do. They will have slightly higher resistance (more response but less spin time), however they will stay responsive for a long time if you apply it properly. Lube may ‘bleed’ and become messy, and you will have to re-lube often.
