There seems to be quite a bit of confusion on how to properly post pictures to a forum, so here's a little guide to help you show off your yoyos in 3 easy steps.

1. Where dem pix at?
First, lets start with where your pictures are located.
A. Computer
B. Camera/SD card
C. Phone
D. iPod/tablet/other device

A. Computer
If the pictures are already on your computer, great! Skip to step 2.

B. Camera/SD card
So you just took a gap shot of your newest yoyo, but it's still on your camera. If you weren't already sure how to do this, either plug in the cable that came with your camera, or insert the SD card into the designated SD card slot in your desktop or laptop computer.

From there, copy the image files to a folder on your computer.

C. Phone
I'm so sick of seeing "text for pics" all over the BST. It's not that hard to transfer them to your computer.

Many phones have a cable you can hook up to your computer and transfer the files like that. Alternatively, you can take the microSD card and a microSD card adapter and transfer them that way.

By far the easiest way is to get images from your phone to your computer is to email them to yourself. From there you can download the picture onto your computer.

As a last resort, if your only way of taking pictures is by your phone, and you don't have picture messaging as part of your phone plan, you can Bluetooth the files to a friend, and they can email them to you.

D. iPod/tablet
Probably one of the easiest ways. You can upload the images straight from your iPod or similar device via an image hosting app.

2. Upload those thangs.
Now comes the easy part (What? It gets easier?). Open your favorite image hosting websites. Popular ones include www.imageshack.com, www.imgur.com (my personal favorite), www.flickr.com, and www.photobucket.com.

Click upload, find the files on your computer or handheld device, and upload the pictures.

3. POST!!!!1!1!111!!
Now you get to decide if you want to post the images themselves, or a link to an album of them (one of the options of image hosting sites). Personally, I prefer posting the pictures in the thread itself, but to each their own.

A. Straight-up image, yo.
If you want to post the images in the thread, copy the 'Direct Link' on the upload page:

After that, use an image tag to post the pictures:
Code:
[img]'Direct Link'[/img]

Now YYE automatically resizes the pictures (for the most part), but you can change the width and height using this tag:
Code:
[img width=xxx height=xxx]'Direct Link'[/img]
(Replace the x's with numbers, accordingly. Ex. 640 and 360, respectively.)

If you've done everything right, you'll get this:

B. Lets go with the album link
This is a little easier, and saves space in the thread, but is usually hard to keep organized and can be frustrating for people looking for specific yoyos in them.

Simply copy the URL of the album of pictures you just uploaded.
Ex. http://imgur.com/wMGtw,2msLu,diTTI

And that's all there is to it. If you follow these steps, you should have no problems whatsoever posting photos for your BST, show-off thread, or whatever you like.

If problems still persist, feel free to post them here or PM me.

Good job.  I know it took you a while to compile all that information.  People will appreciate that.  I personally use an iphone app for photobucket.  I am able to snap the pics with my phone, open the photobucket app, and select the photos from my phone that I want to upload.  From there, I just use the photobucket link for the photo, as you described above, and copy and paste it in the thread.  When you get the hang of it, you will be posting pics in no time.  Hope it helps.  But, I think the easiest way is to find an app for your phone, for one of the picture services, and use the cell phone camera.

I use the tap-a-talk app for the iPhone. It allows you to upload photos straight from the app. It's pretty nice.

I always like the look of the pics in the thread that were "directly" loaded. My question is if you have something in your album already how can/do you get them to look like that? I use flickr and although I am less savy than most of you youngsters when it comes to this I can't say I saw anything for a "direct" link.

Yeah flickr is a bit strange...

Here's how I get any of my old flickr pictures up.

Go to your album page and select the photo you want.

After going to the photo's page that you want, right click and select the size. (I went to large)

After that you right click and select "Copy" or "Copy Image Location"  (Think it differs between browsers)

Code:
[img]http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5093/5524376580_6065baa5d0_b.jpg[/img]
Then just put the link in the image brackets like above.

^Should be the result. (Pictures will very xD)

Speaking of pics, how do you get a gif to become your profile picture?

As long as it's scaled down to the right size and the file isn't to big it'll work as good as any other image file.
