Can You Get the "Burn Look" on an Aluminum(6061) yoyo?

I have 1 raw yoyo and wanted to see if I could get the 6061 Aluminum on it torched and still have the same effect as I see on many quality Titanium throws. Will it work and if so, is it something I could engineer in my garage?

My guess is no. Steel and titanium will acquire that look but aluminum will just blacken most likely. I base this on things I have heated in the past for other reasons. Or even taken a grinder to and overheated. That will cause steel to get the blue look but not aluminum. As I recall heating aluminum causes it to turn chalky then black. The oxidation process for aluminum differs from steel and titanium, which are capable of taking much more heat.

I saw a video about some people destroying a DV888, in the end they used torch to melt the yoyo. It doesn’t change color, just melt.
