During the last 5 years I've hosted the Yo-Down Show-Down which is an old school contest in Farmington, NM. The contest takes place during the July 4th weekend at the Farmington E3 Children's Museum. Farmington is located in the Four Corners area about an hour from Durango, Colorado.
The contest is geared to promote the "Art of Yo" in the Four Corners area. In the past the event has been sponsored and made possible by the following companies Duncan, SuperYo, Vulto, and Yomega. There may be a 6th Yo-Down Show-Down coming this summer. I'll post details around April/May of 2010 on
www.lukerenneryoyomagic.com if the contest is taking place. It will depend if I'm in the area and have time to contact various companies for the event. This is the only contest that I'm aware of in New Mexico. I think the last major contest for New Mexico was held back around 1996 in Albuquerque. This was the last time I was involved in a statewide competition. I hope this helps.
