Finger grinds tilting problem

I started doing regular finger, thumb grinds, still haven’t gotten horizontal finger grinds, tho… But my question refers to the regular ones, from a sidethrow-pop to your index finger.

My problem is when I get it to grind after 1-2 secs it starts tilting and it doesn’t seem like the angle of my hand or finger can fix that, and it’s not the speed, that’s causing it.

How should I move my hand or finger to correct the tilt?

Thank you.

That tends to happen with me as well, have found that certain throws handle finger grinds better than others. A yoyo like a Too Hot or the Elysian seem to hug that finger. Also, if you get a nice strong throw, your grind will last longer before tilting off.

It’s the angle of your finger. If it tilts outward away from you, try angling your finger inward from you, if it tilts inward do the opposite.
If it’s confusing, do a trapeze, then move one hand forward and the other backward, the yoyo will tilt. Now remember which way tilt where, it’s the same for grinds.
