Got the yeti today. Only got a few throws in before I went skating in the city.
Didn’t feel that amazing. Feel there was more hype than anything but then again I didn’t get to play it much. This was the same with the puffin 1 but now i love it. I’ll be playing this yeti all day tomorrow at work so ill see if my thoughts have changed. Hopefully so.
Update: switch the stock string out with some kitty and made a worlds difference. Wow is this different and fun. Seems promising
well I went downhill longboarding but I can’t do some trick skating. Kinda suck but I can do kflips, heels. Can do a boardslide on a low rail. But tonight, we went to new haven city to bomb some hills. Pendy slides. 180 standup slides. Bombed 6 story parking garages. City skating is fun.
Ermagerd. Feels amazing on the throw. No kickback, yay!
What. The. Actual. $%*?? WHY SO SMOOTH?
Oh gawd. I’m finally going to be afraid to ding a yoyo.
Why is this so stable? I thought the less rim weight would mean less stability, but this thing pwns!
Oh man. Still had lots of spin left when I hit that bind. Surprising!
Wonder how my finger-grind binds will work out? Oh, oops. I think I need to be more precise on my finger grinds; that catch zone shape isn’t making it brainless
Oh there we go. Yeah. Gotta be more precise and careful, but man, this thing actually grinds!
This… feels… like it couldn’t reasonably be made with Aluminum. Might be placebo or confirmation bias. Not sure. Just feels… titanium-y…
I don’t need moar yoyos. Ever.
Naturally, I will get moar yoyos. It’s inevitable. But yeah. It’s that good.
First impression for my first unresponsive metal. Yoyofactory Shutter.
Father said youl ding it I said won’t first throw. Ding and is scuffed lol.
Why is it tilting.
Its so smooth.
Wow bind.
Let me try brain twister.
Oh this thing sleeps forever. I can do 100 bts.
Let me switch the bearing with the koncave. Uses plier bearing broken.
Learn mach 5.
Nice sleeve on the box.
Cool exploded view on it.
Whaaaaat, magnetic box, nice touch.
It looks so cozy in the perfectly cut foam.
Nice certificate of authenticity. #27 of 35, cool.
This iridescent purple is amazing.
Let’s string this thing up.
Butane flame Ammo fits it well.
Ceramic bearing a bit loud.
But holy crap it’s smooth.
Very comfortable shape.
Nice and airy on the string.
This thing is spectacular.
Actually grinds pretty darn well.
Dat titanium ringing.
Stable and long spinning.
But far from overly rim-weighted.
Very balanced feel.
Can’t stop smiling, too much fun!
I think I may have a new favorite. Outstanding job Mr. Pang. Absolutely worth every penny, the Evora is really something special.
Almost every yoyo I ever get: put stock string on it (always a mistake), play with it a few throws, then decide I don’t like it very much, put it down and don’t play with it for a month. Happens with most yoyos because I usually win any yoyos I get, and I would never buy that particular yoyo. Also because I am used to only one yoyo.
First impression of Gradient: I hate this. This is terrible. But I’ll say I like it cause it’s so expensive. Six months later: I love this. This is amazing. And it’s so cheap!
JohnnyJ, there’s a reason you think “cool yoyo”, though. You genuinely don’t recognize the thoughts that go through your head in a moment or two of throwing? You’re not mindful of the experience?
Not saying yoyos are unique in this. Almost anything throughout the day leaves us with sensory impressions and thoughts if we’re mindful of it. I can say to myself, “What are your next impressions of the keyboard you’re typing on,” and come up with a list of thoughts I have.
Gotta be “present” in this life, man! Think things! Allow the moment to filter into you and recognize it. And I’m not talking hippie crap either, I’m just saying, if you genuinely aren’t feeling the world around you, you’re missing out on… well… everything!
