rainfly review

The rainfly is a bimetal yoyo made by yoyoempire with a few of the models sponsored by kingyostar.

weight: 67 grams
gap width: 44 mm
diameter: 56 mm
comes with a ceramic concave bearing size C

This yoyo sells for about 79 dollars on some sites and is well worth the price. Though it may not be the most interesting yoyo feeling a bit bland if you need a yoyo that won’t fail and is always by your side to help you along this is the yoyo.
I recommenced the blasted version if you like to grind as the anodizing on the non blasted is a little grabby. You can fix this issue by buying some monkey buff sold on this wonderful site. I’ll post the link on the bottom of this thread for reference.

I own the rainbow version of the rainfly which on non spinning mode it has the colors red green and orange. When its spinning it turns this beautiful gold color… its absolutely stunning and its worth just one throw.
I do not have any pictures of it when spinning as my camera cant take pictures like that. That said here is some eye candy before we go further.

this is the yoyo from its side view an absolute stunner.

Now to the guts of this review.

i played with this yoyo for about a week with the stock bearing. Be warned the bearings that come play great for the first week or so then they just fall apart. The one i got had rust in it.
With the stock bearing it has a very light feeling that just plays great. It is a very fun playful little yoyo that can handle most anything and ask for more. Though i didn’t feel any creative vibes coming from this yoyo, if you want something that just can’t be held down i recommend this yoyo.

this yoyo is definitely worth the money if you want a good bimetal for a low price.

Why are you bumping a review?

And this was up there.

Nice review, alecto! I still love my Rainfly (which I bought thanks to your enthusiastic recommendations ; ) I’d be eager to try a blasted version at some point now that I enjoy finger grinding.
Funny sometimes what threads take off here, and which ones get no love… I posted this thread about a week ago, and it’s been radio silence ???
