Ed Haponik's 77 Rules For Yo-Yo Players Book, With John Higby Artwork

I just received Ed’s new book today, 77 Rules for Yo-Yo Players.  The artwork is done by John Higby, and each book comes with a hand painted (by Higby) Duncan ProFly.

It looks great, and each one has a very personal touch.  Here are a few photos:

Love mine, may order another though. My comic got a little bent up in shipping :frowning:

Thanks @totalartist (and anybody who’s picked one up)!
The support means a lot. John is the greatest and getting to work with him always leaves me awed and humbled. Maybe it’s the weight of the paint he uses, but his ProFlys always seem to play extra great!

Yeah, John is a class act, really nice and talented guy, for sure. I’m surprised this hasn’t really hit the forum yet, but there’s no time like the present. I know you guys worked hard on it.

Flickr is acting up for me, it won’t let me post various sizes of the photos. I’ll fix this up later though. I’ll be back!

I’ve been meaning to order one of these. Just picked one up along with some art, excited to get mine!

Cool! The paint on that one kind of looks like Black Bip Bop.

I want one…

I want this so bad.

I never thought if it that way, but it kinda does have that vibe about it. Bip Bop with a Galaxy twist.

ooooo I might make a sale tomorrow morning, and in that case I’ll pick one up. How long do you think they’ll last?

I believe they’ve been up for sale for a few weeks now. If you buy one in the near future you should be able to get one, but sooner the better as there’s a limited number. I’m sure you could contact Mr. Higby to inquire how many are left.

^  Yeah, I’d grab one while you can.  I just posted my Ed yo-yo in the Splash Game.  Click to vote on which side you think I should display in my case.

I specifically, before placing my order, requested a “big face” Ed yo-yo.  I like the side best that’s zoomed in on just the face and a yo-yo.  Some of them are “full body” Ed too.  If you step on it, you might be able to request a preference.  I got lucky, one side big face, and one side torso length Ed haha.

After you cop a book, cast a vote…  8)

WHere does one pick one of these awesome books up?

TA put the link at the bottom of the original post.

Ohhhhhh haha I am blind  sorry and thank you

Here you go…

Oh yeah, I got mine a while back but honestly, have been playing it so much I neglected to post about it.

Love it, also bought some art while at it from John for my music studio. Just amazing work. Lastly, Ed’s words, the 77 rules, apply to much more than yoyo.

Great post TA.

Turns out I don’t quite have the cash for the book as well, but the painted profly’s look so good I’ll have to snag the Mr. Yodel Pair (going for the clear painted ones). Psyched!

I went to the Westcoast regionals yoyo contest sponsored by Duncan awhile back and won a proyo, which is a little different, but I can’t put down.

Like seriously, fixed axle is really growing on me. It’s so… fun. No more stressing about pumping out that technical horizontal combo on stage or desperately trying to come up with a new element or trick to use. Just looping and walking the dog (and if I wanna challenge myself, kwijibo for the win!).

try some kick flip suicides, stalls, shoot the moon, matrix, tightrope walk… man I have a BLAST with fixies.

I’ve done the Ed Haponik variation where you do Kwijibo but the yoyo doesn’t spin at all (which means it’s done completely off a basic trapeze stall, dismount the double or nothing stall with a kick flip into a trapeze stall!

Also landed Jensen’s Flying Coat hanger ;D

I’m with you man! I need to get my friends into it now…
