I know this may be silly, but what would a guitar sound like if you replace the original guitar strings with straight yo-yo strings?

First I expect yoyo string to break under the high tension of tuning. Second if you use an acoustic guitar the string would go thud and if you used an electric you would hear something but it would just be an amplified thud.
And yes it is silly.

False. On an electric you would not hear anything through the amp.

Don’t know hobbyman’s problem, it’s an awesome idea. Hard to implement, but ideas are the starting place. + 1 for guitars
