Yomagic Anodizes: "Flawed" Anodizing UPDATE! (6/29/12)

I did this skyline earlier. I did both halves differently trying to practice different techniques. The first half is my favorite ano job I've done so far and looks amazing! I love how it looks and i seem to have the technique down. I did a half fade type thing on the second half. You can see it in the pics but i did an orange acid/splash and a clear/orange wash/splash. Let me know what you guys think

I mean if you don't want perfected yet and wouldn't mind letting me practice more on your yoyos then I'd be down but I wouldn't do more then one for free. I'd be wasting a lot of material on multiple throws. I'd do a fair price but I'm still in practicing phase.

I stripped my overdrive "knockoff" and then decided to give it a nice new color. I did a red and orangey/yellow acid wash. I personally like acid washes over any anodizing technique. I also got anodizing down pretty well and ive done over 7 of my own yoyos and soon i will be ready to take on commision. This throw even has a flat-like hub so the problems i was having before with them are all gone. Heres pics of my most recent work





On this photo the lighting makes the two halves look different but they are the same shade of red.

I looks really good, almost like fire.  Do you have any idea how much an acid wash will cost when you start doing commissions?

I was going for a fiery look similar to the colorway that was on the fire chief.

When I do take on commissions I think it'll be around 30-35 for an acid wash. I haven't thought about prices much but I may take commission very soon.

I will be anodizing pretty soon, but I am still in the learning phase. You are doing great work! I have a Master Galaxy that, on the blank half, I want something that looks a little "spacey". I would really like to keep the original splash and have the ano work done only on the hub. I don't even know if that would be possible, but it's just and idea. Either way, I will eventually get that one half done. When you feel up for this challenge let me know! You are certainly on the path to anodizing success! I'm not sure if ano will effect the weight. I wouldn't want to unbalance this wonderful throw. Stay with it! You rock!
