It seems that there are getting to be a lot of topics moved lately. On some pages 3/4's of the page is marked MOVED:. Sometimes it hard to navigate through all of them.

Do you mean the "this thread is moved here"? Not sure but I'll look into it.

See, my problem there is this, while I understand and agree that they get bothersome. Though if I was to open a topic and a moderator moved it while I wasn't online or I didn't check it for lets say a couple days, if the topic is moved and no longer gone it would be problematic for me to find my thread. Yes,m I can goto my profile and find the post and goto it's thread but not all forum users are proficient or even know that this function exists. Perhaps the solution could be twofold. When a moderator moves a topic, it disappears or expires however at the time of moving they would shoot a PM to each member whom had posted in said topic that the topic had been moved and it's new location. I don't know if SMF can do that or not but I think that would be a more valid and well rounded application of this suggestion. Just my $0.02 though ymmv.

If there is no function to expire it, then maybe the mods can earn their keep by spending a few minutes deleting the "Moved" notices after a few days.

See, my problem there is this...
It seems to me that if you leave the "Moved" notice up for a few days, anybody that really cares about it should have noted it along the way. In some cases, a few hours would be sufficient, and meaning no disrespect, all that is required of some posts given the content.
