Names Jeff. I am a 45 year old father of two young boys. My 8 year old has been bugging me for a yo yo. 10 year old decided he didn't want to be left out. Bought a couple of Butterflies. Boys quickly lost interest. Problem is I didn't. I started researching things and was blown away by all that is out there. There is so much out there, I don't know where to start. By day, I am a high school teacher. By night, you will find me on my Xbox. Anything else, just ask.

Hello again throwers!
It's been a lengthy and interesting past two or three years. Because of this, I had to stop my habit of throwing. I picked up a few more hobbies, and my marks in school began to suffer. The situation was to drop a few things, or fail out of school. Yoyoing didn't make the cut. I've missed the scene for sure. When I left off, it was the year after Ando won the A division at the WYYC (At least that is what I believe happened). I checked back in from time to time, playstyle certainly has shown the passing of time.
So my questions for you all is what all has gone on in the last twoish years? What have I missed? Any new yo-yo companies emerge that have been promising? New styles? Recommend any new yo-yos?
Thanks for your time, and it's good to be back!
PS: I used to be a very active member on the other site. (I'm not sure how the moderators feel about name saying). When I left, it was booming, and the store was doing well, and I come back and the store is gone, and the forums are far slower than they used to be. How many of you have come from the other place? Hopefully you've gotten from my context which place I'm speaking of, which nation.

Hey everyone, my name is Bill and you might remember me as fireball19 on another yoyo forum. I used to be really active on there from 07-09 then kinda fell out of the yoyoing loop. It's nice to see how this community has grown and I'm glad to be apart of it once again. This forum seems very active and I hope you guys can help me get back into yoyoing since I used to be obsessed. I've been yoyoing since early 2007, and I havent exactly progressed much in the bast 2 years or so. I did have a few short stints where I was really into yoyoing but it never lasted. I do absolutely love this hobby but the lack of motivation hasn't helped me much. I hope to be friends with each and every one of you and be an active voice on this forum. Thanks!

Hey I'm Shawn, 20 years old and enjoy learning all sorts of practical and skillful activities. Right now I mostly just use my Dark Magic 2 but I also have a Grind Machine, Mighty Flea, FHZ Pulse, and a few other beginner Duncans from when I first started back in high school. I'm glad to be here!

Hi there folks. My name is Denis and i've been yoyoing for about 10 months and had some problems back then with my studies, because i simply coudn' stop playing with my grind machine( all day and night ; eat, sleep and yoyo). Eventualy things started going really well so i could afford a nice little Dark Magic. After an 888x and finally a SPYY Addiction (sincerely the best yoyo i ve ever laid my hands on).Now im getting a YYf SuperStar for my b-day. My favorite yoyo players are: Andre, Jensen Kimmit, Augie Fash and Jason P Lee. Looking forward to seeing you on the forums ppl

Hi!
Thanks for setting up this site! My son is 11 years-old and has been a Yo-yo enthusiast for about two years. Is there anyone in the Austin, Texas area who knows of some tweens who like to practice Yo-yo?
Thanks in advance!
LLO

Hey all, WarGirl saying hi from the beautiful (sarcasm, neh?) Great Lakes, Illinois. I'm almost 21, and in the U.S. Navy. i've been learning a few things from the videos here on a Metal Drifter with a Konkave bearing i picked up here, and just bought a DM-II and hope to get into more technical tricks. currently stuck in the intermediate category (using the video tuts for reference) as my 'yo is a bit too responsive using friction stickers. hoping to get good at whips and highly technical string tricks.
love 'yall,
WarGIRL

Hello everyone. I found this website via Google. I am here because I know nothing about a yo yo or a top. I want to learn and start to learn this skill/hobby as a way of fun and enjoyment. I am pretty much blind as well. I was born with Optic Atrophy and have been able to see, but several weeks a go my eyes took a turn for the worst and in a nut shell the eye doctors have no idea why. Their reply in a nutshell was that my Optic Nerves are simply degrading further....and that was the best they could come up with. I have no idea where to start with Yo-Yo-ing or tops. There are so many brands and models to pick from and various prices as well. My goal is to have fun, not to compete in a contest.....as of now anyway. Is this a skill that requires good eye site or is it more about feel and touch? Where do I start in the world of Yo-Yo-ing? Which items are a good bang for the buck, great value for money and will allow a beginner to learn and grow? I am also interested in tops, so I am looking for the same thing....value for money, great bang for the buck. Like I said my goal is to have fun, and also get my almost four year old daughter involved and see if she would enjoy this as well.
