Hey all I have been throwing for over a year now and mainly concentrate on 5A. Currently throwing PGM’s with stacks as they lend themselves to 5A. Currently looking at buying a Legacy as I have hears so many good things about them.

Salutations, Eric from Connecticut, one half of a century on the planet. I've been hooked on yo-yo's since about 1999. It's still a lot of fun, there's always new things to learn, there's always new yo-yo's too. How many yo-yo's should one have? I don't know, I'm not there yet.

You should be fine as long as you know how to bind. If you don't, it shouldn't be too hard for you to learn how to bind, either.

Welcome to the YoYoExpert Forums!
If this is your first time please take a minute to introduce yourself. Just share a bit about yourself, your favorite yo-yos or tricks, and how you found out about YoYoExpert.
Hello all!!! I am new here. I bought a cheapie and was having some fun with it. It got me thinking so I googled yo yo and found all of these amazing sites. So far this is the best of those sites. I am looking to jump right in. Am I crazy for starting off with the purchase of Dark Magic? Should I start off with the Fast 201? I am an extreme beginner, but look forward to learning some of these amazing tricks. Any advice for a novice?

Well, from what you said I'd suggest a Journey by YoYoJam. Its a great beginner yoyo in my opinion.

yeah i would no start off with a dark magic. you need somthing that is very resposive. I tried starting with a yoyojam bolt. (doc pop sig. yoyo) and it was a not a good starter yoyo. you should master binding first.

YO! I started yoyoin' when I was little with a duncan, and didn't even manage a trapeze. I'd never guess that years later I would buy a Dark Magic Yo-Yo and that I would not only land the trapeze, but manage an AND WHUT! (and if I did guess that, I must have been able to see into the future.) I would have never thought that I would be yoyoing off of the string or looping with two yoyos. I also would not have been able to do any of these if not for starting out in your learning section... I currently own a speeder, Dark Magic, Hitman, Aquarius, and two sunset trajectories. (my brother owns a kickside). I love this site and its customer service... anyways,
Keep on SPINNIN!

Hi, my name is Henry. I just started a couple weeks ago. I found this site when I was looking for videos to learn tricks. I have a Duncan Imperial, Proyo, Flying squirrel, Yoyojam Speedmaker, Lyn Fury, Legacy, Aquarius and Speeder.

Hi everybody! This is Ville-Pekka aka Veepee/V-P from Finland. I'm one of the few Finnish yo-yoers and I'm very proud of it! I have been throwing for a year and 2-4 months and currently I'm very adept at 1A, poor at 2A, able to do few 3A tricks, and when it comes to 5A... I don't know. I guess I'm a still somewhat beginner. I suck at 4A because I don't have any OS yo-yos (yet). My favourite yo-yo is Auldey L3 (designed by Luo Yi Cheng aka Takuto). I consider yo-yoing as one of the most stylish and 'cool' things on Earth. I believe I have reached the limit where there are no 'fundamental' tricks to learn as I can do all the 1A tricks on this and some other sites. The next step is creating your own tricks, of course. Some players that inspire me are Mikhail Tulabut, Ryosuke Iwasawa and Rage from ILYY (I don't have very many original tricks yet, though). Besides that, I'm trying to spread the word about yo-yoing around, but currently nobody hasn't been interested. Whew, that's all! My 'short' introduction grew a little longer than I expected but I think that's ok and it's done anyway. Keep on spinning!

Hey everyone! my name is Penfold (its not really but everyone calls me by this name. its my game name, how sad is that hey!!! hahaha) my bro got a yoyo spintastics comet for christmas and i came to this site in search for a bit of fun as i thought it would be a bit of a laugh to show a few "skills" to my mates, but what do you know it looks awesome ive brought a velocity and i really cannot wait, as even a trapieze is hard to catch on my imperial shaped yoyo:( i just hope its as easy learning curve to learn as it seems to be for a lot of people here. to think i can do pro tricks in possible a matter of months is awesome!!! so yea ill be seeing you around. PS the post about 5 up from mine about being able to do and whut and how he loves yoyoing has inspired me. Trice thanks

Hi. I'm the milkman. I don't really live like on a farm or anything, it's just I really like the trick "milk the cow".

My name is Rebecca. I'm 56 years old. I got into yo-yoing a year and a half ago, but I can't remember what got me started up on it again. (Since childhood) I find it very relaxing, and the new yo-yos have many possibilities and are so much fun. When I say new, I mean compared to the yo-yo I had in the 1950's. I would love to learn more tricks. So far I can do Brain Twister and Drop in the Bucket. Now I'm learning Double or Nothing. Andre's free videos teaching all those tricks are amazing treasures. Without them, my greatest accomplishment would be Around the World which I got all excited about being able to do with a Duncan Mosquito summer before last. I'm pretty busy teaching school, so I don't have a lot of time to practice, but I hope to keep learning. Playing with the counterweights looks like great fun. I have several yo-yos, including the Dark Magic, Trajectory, Kickside, Legacy, Flying Squirrel, and Throw Monkey. I guess I'm kind of collecting them. I bought yo-yos for my 4th graders and I share my own with them also.
