Here is the problem:
I recently got a YYF MVP as a present. I love it and I like it most when it is non responsive.
But, after a day or two it suddenly became responsive and a little loud when I threw it down.
I oiled it with YYJ thin lube and it made it non responsive again for about a day. I have been repeating this process a few days in a row now and I wondered if I was just skipping around the bearing breaking in process. That is where I am and I wondered if this was the case if I should just clean it.
respond quickly,

Definalty
I have them off of all 5 of mine and have had no problems.
just don't leave the bearing out of the yoyo like that.
dust and stuff will clog it up.
But the bearing seat will protect it while it is in the yoyo, and the balls wont fall out of the bearing unless you go at them with a hammer and screwdriver, so it's all good.  Grin

Well now that your good and confused again, that was my method for my bearings. Tried and true, it works for me without fail. Yes, there's a thousand different people saying a thousand different things, but this should give you a good foundation of stuff to try and find out what works for you.

thanks,
the one problem is that the bearing keeps becoming responsive, a little loud, and not smooth.
when I put oil on it fixes it for about a day and then this happens again.
why? Huh
thanks

Thats weird. If I had to guess I'd say either
A: there if foreign debris in the bearing
B: there is solvent residue in the bearing
or C: the yoyo string is sliding down the side of the bearing and pops back out when you open it to oil it.
It didn't get wet at ant point, did it?

I don't know about A or B but I know it's not C.
I tried just throwing it down hard and letting it spin out like JM said to do.
It gets non responsive after about 5 throws and after I play with it for a while it eventually becomes responsive again. I think it is just the bearing breaking in process and it is not a big problem.

If you have any comments or questions about this post you can post them otherwise I'll just play with it for a while and if I have any problems I will post them.

Thanks again,

Bearings dont go unresponsove to responsive when breaking in. When you spin it does it make a sort of clicking sound?

It doesn't really click it is just a little loud and a little rough.

Yea, something is probably in the bearing or bearing seat, check the bearing seat and clean the bearing.

This may sound silly but what part of the yoyo is the bearing seat? Huh

A bearing seat is where the bearing of the yoyo sits during play.

In this picture, it is surrounded by the K-Pads (white circle thingy) and it sorrouds the axle.
