JAMS yoyo string!

Today, I will be reviewing the all new JAMS yoyo string. This is my 2nd review, but my 1st string review. Hope you guys like it!

Introduction
JAMS yoyo string first started out on April 19, 2013 by 2 Colorado born brothers, Jake and Mazen Austin. They made their Facebook page on the 22nd. On the same day, they had a contest on yoyoexpert.com, to hopefully start getting some publicity. The contest was that the first 15 people to like their page would get 2 free strings to try out, and hopefully buy more if they’d like the string. I was luckily one of the few so I got 2 free strings to try out. When I got them, I was excited to try them out and this was what I thought of the strings…

Unboxing
Before I start reviewing the strings I’d like to show you guys how these guys ship their strings. This is totally different from anything else I’ve ever seen. It’s quite creative, and I was totally not expecting this. So here’s my unboxing video…

*I have recently found out that the extra strings that I mentioned in my unboxing video was a gift since I told them I’d be doing an unboxing video and review.

I may have made a fool of myself a little bit, but hey, I was their first customer, I had no idea what to expect, so I had to improvise a bit. On another note, this was not the first time I tried out the strings, I first tried them out when I got the 2 free strings from the contest, I just wanted to put that out there. So here’s what I think of the strings…

Look/Feel
When I ordered these strings I got every single color and I will make note of each one. As you could see in the unboxing video, I got red, green, blue, yellow, pink, white, orange strings along with some mixed colored strings. The red string, is very vibrant and is great for videos. The blue string, I think looks the best. It’s bright, colorful, and just generally has a great look. The yellow and pink are also bright, and look great as well. The green strings, I think are the brightest of them all and are very much like neon strings, but they don’t do too well when you are shooting videos. Lastly, the whites, are just your standard white strings for when you want a plain color. Now as for the feel, all of them feel the same of course, except for the greens, which I will explain later on. All the other colors, the string feel great. They are very soft. The greens for some reason feel a bit different. They feel slicker than the other colors, and a bit stiffer, but it’s still great. I really like how the greens feel. In short, all of the strings are soft, feel great, and look great.

Durability
I’ve used these strings for about 2-3 weeks, and they look and play exactly the same as when I first got them. I’m pretty sure these strings will last a long time, I wouldn’t be surprised if these strings lasted for a few months.

Playability
These strings play great. They have a slight bouncy feel to them, which I like. They whip pretty well, I can easily do brent stoles, ninja vanishes, etc. with these strings. The binds are good. They aren’t great, but they aren’t mediocre either. This string binds just like any other standard string out there. Now, onto the tension. This string holds tension very well. After multiple throws, the tension hasn’t changed much at all. Lastly, these strings are soft. You won’t be getting string burn as often, and you don’t have to worry as much on the slipknot restricting your middle finger. These strings flow great when you’re playing, holds tension very well, and reduces string burn.

Pros
-looks great
-feels soft, reduces string burn
-a tad bouncy(if you like that)
-holds tension very well
-whips well
-lasts a long time

Cons
-Aren’t really any cons. The worst thing about this string is if you do multiple eli hops, you will get string burn, but that’s about it. But really, any string will give you string burn at a certain standard.

Price/Ordering
10 strings- $3
25 strings- $6
50 strings- $11
100 strings- $14.50
These strings are cheap, so if you are looking for great strings that play great, go with JAMS. When you order you can mix and match colors as well for the same price. For example, if you get 10 strings, you can get 2 blues, 2 greens, 5 reds, and a pink all for the same price. Another thing you can do is order mixed colors like a string with blue and green for only 75 cents extra with your order. So if you want to buy some, just pm him on his yoyoexpert account at http://yoyoexpert.com/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=23616 or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/Thedeceivedjake and be sure to like their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/JamsYoYoString?fref=ts
