My Review on the YoYoFactory 888.11

(Just as a side note this is my first review of a yoyo)Alright I decided to make this review on the YoYoFactory 888.11 because I have not yet found a good informative review on this yoyo. First of all here’s the link to the 888.11’s page: http://shop.yoyoexpert.com/product/426/YYF-888.11
You can buy the yoyo there and check the specs but for your ease I’ll give you the specs right here!

First Impressions
I got the 888.11 in Blue W/ Light Blue SPLASH about a week ago and when I first saw it I thought “This yoyo is small!” And it is a pretty small yoyo compared to the Dark Magic 2, but the gap is nice and wide and it plays great. The box was nothing special and a little bit disappointing because I expected a custom 888.11 box because believe me this thing deserves it! It came with a string which I never ended up using because it was probably 100% Cotton which is pretty terrible. When I took it out of the box it fit in my hand great, and it had a great weight and feel to it. When I threw it down it felt pretty epic, but I didn’t get a big chance to use the stock YYF bearing because I put my Konkave Ceramic bearing in at my first chance. The stock bearing is pretty good though, and it is REALLY quiet like the quietest bearing I’ve ever heard. Also about the bearings, if you do get this yoyo, get a YoYoFactory Multi-Tool to remove the bearing! Other wise you need pliers which will scratch your bearing up. I’ll link the Multi-Tool at the bottom of the page.

First Uses
Just to specify I am using YoYoExpert Twisted 100% Polyester string in the YoYoExpert color scheme, I’ll link the string down below if you want to get it because it’s really good string! I will also link the Konkave Ceramic bearing down below because it’s also great! This is the first yoyo I have ever used with Hubstack technology and let me tell you it is absolutely remarkable! Not only is it awesome to hold but you can also straighten out a bad throw with it by centering the yoyo. The Hubstacks are really nice but sadly I can’t compare them to any other hubstack yoyo. The 888.11 sleeps for a REALLY LONG TIME! It is honestly amazing. The 888.11 makes my Dark Magic 2 feel like a crappy yoyo you get from a carnival! The wide gap makes for easy string tricks and its small size makes it easier to go into string tricks as well. The weight distribution is amazing and it just feels so smooth on the string it is unbelievable! Thumb grinds are also really great on the 888.11!

Pros
-Great weight and weight distribution
-Wide gap which makes string tricks much easier to land
-Incredibly smooth on the string
-Hubstacks are great
-Long sleep times
-Tight binds
-Thumbgrinds are incredible
-Beautiful SPLASH design

Cons
-Price tag is pretty insane at $120.00
-Bearing requires tool to remove (but most YYF yoyo’s do)

Overview
I honestly can say the 888.11 is well worth it. Even for the price it is extremely great and definitely miles ahead of the Dark Magic 2. If you have any questions about the 888.11 feel free to leave a comment and I will try to answer your question. Thank you for reading my first review I hope you enjoyed and I hope this helped!

Great review! Like you said, it may be expensive, but it is worth every penny. Thanks for finally posting a review of this beast!

Thank you! I felt like I needed to make a review on this since nobody else had.

One of the best reviews I’ve read. Even better than some from review websites. You should do a lot more like this.

Wow thanks so much I’ll try to make more reviews!

good review… i can tell you put some good effort into it… and theyll only get better when you can compare more yoyos…

If you would like a recommendation for another good yoyo to try, I totally recommend the protostar… Its kinda on the other end of the yoyo spectrum from the 888, still quality, cheap price tag at 35 bucks, and it will help you figure out what you like…

I’m not particularly inte3rested in getting the ProtoStar but I may in the future because it seems like it’d be a good yoyo to use on the go. I’m thinking about getting an Adegle Asteroid or maybe a POPStar, that caught my eye and hey nobody has reviewed them yet so why not?

This Yoyo seems pretty sick. I’m just hyped about it having an 808 edition!

It is VERY sick! But sadly YYE doesn’t have the 808 Special Edition color.
